5 Terps Prepping for NFL Draft

Five former Maryland football players will put their talents on display in the coming weeks for NFL teams.  DB Terrell Skinner and RB Cory Jackson were invited to play in Saturday’s Under Armour Senior Bowl (4 p.m. ET/NFL Network), and DL Travis Ivey will take part in the Texas vs. the Nation game on Saturday. Feb. 6 (2 p.m. ET on CBS College Sports).  Skinner, who will play for the North squad, was a two-year starter at free safety. He played in all 12 games in 2009, finishing third on the team in tackles (67) and pass breakups (3).  Jackson didn’t touch the ball much in his three seasons as the starting fullback (17 career carries for 46 yards / 29 career receptions for 254 yards), but he was one of the more durable players the last four years, missing just one game. He was also a key cog in the running game and pass protection.Ivey has also been invited to the NFL Combine which is scheduled for Feb. 24 through March 2 in Indianapolis. He’ll be joined by DB Nolan Carroll and OL Bruce Campbell. (from umterps.com)
