No. 9 Maryland won seven of ten matches to defeat No. 24 Virginia 22-11 in Charlottesville, capping off a 19-4 regular season in which the Terps set the school record for wins. The Terps trailed 10-11 following the sixth match, but Mookie Golden, No. 9 Alex Krom, Jon Kohler and Kyle John notched victories as Maryland scored 12 straight points to end the match. “It was a great atmosphere and we had some hard-fought victories,” said head coach Kerry McCoy. “It’s huge to get this win and end the regular season with this momentum. It’s great because our guys are wrestling better and with more confidence every day.” No. 3 Hudson Taylor improved to 36-2 this season with a victory over defending ACC Champion Brent Jones, who is ranked 18th in the nation at 197 pounds.
