The University of Maryland baseball team defeated Hofstra 10-3 Saturday behind Brett Harman’s arm and the team’s legs, as the Terps set an Atlantic Coast Conference record with eight stolen bases in the game.
Matt Marquis’ three-run home run in the third inning gave Maryland a 4-0 lead and the Terps never looked back. Matthew Murakami and Poutier each drew walks in the fourth and executed a double-steal to get into scoring position. Alfredo Rodriguez hit a single up the middle scoring both runners in a play that typified Maryland’s day.
