Just back from No.2 Maryland’s dominating victory over No. 8 Stanford. After tonights 20-8 thrashing, I am ready to start calling this team The Greatest Show on Turf . Simply put, this team has it all. Senior leadership. Check. Offensive firepower. Check. Defensive stoppers. Check. This team has everything necessary to go very, very far this season. Stanford came in ranked #8 and had to leave shell shocked trailing 13-4 after the 1st half.
That resiliency is one of the many things that makes this team special. They are going to be challenged over the next few weeks with 4 out of their next 5 games on the road, including games at No. 4 Penn and at No. 5 North Carolina. Cathy Reese has this group of young ladies poised for some major success. Karri Ellen Johnson led the way tonight with 4 goals and 2 assists.
