Not much to say after the lady’s game today against Marist, other than an emphatic “Wow!” After two regular season games between the ACC Tournament and NCAA tournament, the Terps came out firing from the get-go in their opening round game. Sophomore Karri Ellen Johnson led the way with 5 goals, followed by Sarah Mollison and Amanda Spinnenweber who each had 3. Caitlyn McFadden and Kristy Black each added 2 goals as well. The Terps out-shot Marist 46-11.
One key note about this game: Cathy Reese is never satisfied. Despite a 15-goal victory, and a 35-shot deficit, coach talked in the post-game press conference about how 20 goals is nice, but not when you shoot 20-46 (11-29 in the first half). I hope Reese’s drive for perfection and dominance (even more so than what the team did today) continues to trickle down to the players. This team looked unstoppable today, though.
