The phones were ringing off the hook at Verizon with season ticket requests. John Wall is a one in a decade player. It is inconceivable that he will not be a Wizard. To me it is also unthinkable that the Wizards will keep Gilbert Arenas around to foul up the future. Ted Leonsis is a winner–he has proven willing to spend anything to make the Caps a winner–witness Nicholas Backstrom’s 67 million dollar contract for 10 years. He has #8 tied up for 11 more years. With John Wall, he has a franchise player for years to come. Let him run the show immediately. Take the hit and buy out Agent Zero’s contract or trade him to anyone who will eat part of the deal. It’s inevitable and you don’t have to wait until June 24 to realize.
