I picked up my credentials at M&T Bank early yesterday morning. Yes my heart was broken because the Terps were absent. This was going to be the crowning year for Maryland lacrosse with the 2 NCAA finals in the Baltimore area.
Now what I am about to say even makes me sicker. Cornell should end Notre Dame’s magic run in game one. Jeff Tambroni and the squad have peaked at the right time and desperately want to erase last year’s memory. Duke will handle UVA just like they always seem to do. UVA has to be effected by the tragedy and they were lucky to escape Stoneybrook with a win. Duke should carry the momentum into the final game and win the title. The benefit of the 5th year players on the team especially Ned Crotty gives Duke a big edge in the tourney. Like in the bball tourney , the one team that could have handled the Devils was of course Maryland. That is what makes me sick in both cases. The shot lingers.
