It is with a heavy heart that I write of the passing of my good friend and tremendous Terrapin supporter, Erv Raffel. Erv not only supported the entire program with his donations but more-so with every fiber of his being. Erv and I would talk at every home basketball game about different Terrapin issues. You could always see Erv sitting right behind Coach Williams at almost every ACC road game I will never forget the night in Atlanta after the Terps won the National Title when I saw Erv back at the hotel. We hugged and he said triumphantly “This is our turn to be at the top-let’s really cherish the moment.” Rest in peace Erv, you were a great Terrapin!!!!

Erv was a great guy and an even greater Terp fan. We were all so lucky to know him.
