These 3 are the most important players maybe in MD hoops history. Faust, Hubert, and Baru, would give Gary the best recruiting class he has ever had.
Some would argue the Jones class, which was rated #1, was better. But, we know how that turned out, so, no it wasn’t.
These 3 kids, along with a Junior class of Williams and Padgett, senior in Mosely, and sophmores of everyone coming in this year, will get MD back to that elite top 5 group. With Gary’s tutelage, they will go deep into March. Hopefully, hang another curtain with NCAA Champs up there.
That would lead the way for whoever is going to take over the program. It will open up the door to more and more blue chippers.

So, technically, the most important recruiting class to date, was Dixon, Baxter, Holden, Mouton.
Unless you think that recruiting class put MD on the map.

I think this 2011, IF they get those 3, could get MD another Title, and set up a run of top 5 finishes.
Baru is that nasty. He might be the best PF in the Nation.
mcmillen, elmore et al put md on the map. did they win the title no. only the conference tourney champ went to the ncaa’s. but w/o lefty and his early recruiting classes the development of md basketball would have been delayed for many many years. as a matter of fact, lefty coming to md. woke up the entire dc area and opened the eyes of georgetown, gw and the likes to big time college basketball.
