This is one time I am glad I was wrong. The Rangers showed why the Yankees virtually forfeited 1st place and avoid Texas in the first round. The Bronx Bombers were simply no match for the Rangers. Most important Cliff Lee will be fully rested for game 1 of the World Series. Josh Hamilton ended all arguments–he is clearly the best hitter in baseball. It was certainly poetic justic that Arod took a called strike 3 to end the game.

MLB makes that decision, once the player is voted in. Thank the previous ownership of the Devil Rays, which made a contract deal with Wade Boggs, with Boggs promising to choose the Devil Rays’ cap for his bust if he made it to the HOF. He was a monster in Montreal, but he arguably had his greatest impact upon a team’s success when he was an Angel. Whether MLB sees it that way or not is something we’ll all have to wait and find out.
