Soccer Update: Women’s team Advances to Round of 32 With 4-1 Win Over highpoint—-Men Advance to ACC Final Beating UVA 2-0

Megan Gibbons and Sade Ayinde each had three points to lead the No. 1 seed University of Maryland women’s soccer team to a 4-1 victory over High Point in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday night at Ludwig Field.

Senior Jason Herrick scored two goals to help Maryland avenge a pair of 2009 postseason losses and blank Virginia, 2-0, Friday to advance to the 2010 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Championship title game.
