The Maryland field hockey team (22-1) beat No. 7 Ohio State 3-1 Friday night in the NCAA Semifinals round.
Senior Katie O’Donnell, who was named the Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Year earlier Friday, lead the Terrapins to the championship game Sunday with her seventh career hat trick.
Maryland advances to the NCAA championship game for the 10th time in school history. Six of its 10 appearances have been against North Carolina. The Terrapins beat the Tar Heels twice this season, including a 3-2 win Oct. 23 in College Park and a 5-2 win two weeks ago for the ACC Championship in Winston-Salem, N.C. from umterps.com
