Taylor Jungmann pitched a complete-game shutout and No. 6 Texas took advantage of Maryland’s bullpen, scoring seven runs in the sixth and seventh innings combined, as the Longhorns topped the Terps 8-0 on Friday afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. Jungmann (1-0), a second team All-American last season, ran his career record to 11-0 at home. He was dominant after the first three innings, allowing just one hit in the final six frames while striking out nine on the day. Sander Beck (0-1) excelled in the first five innings for the Terps, keeping the Longhorns off balance with a sharp fastball and a hard-breaking slider.
