The Maryland tennis teams have continued their solid play and moved up in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings. The Terrapin women (9-2, 0-2 ACC) jumped from No. 43 to 40 and the men (9-3, 1-2) from 45th to 44th in the ITA rankings that were released Tuesday. For the women it’s their highest ranking since February, 2007 when the Terps were 33rd nationally.
This is as high as the men have been in the last five seasons. The Terps reached No. 45 in March, 2007. The men also have four players in the individual rankings. Maros Horny is No. 72 and Sergio Wyss is No. 111 in the ITA singles list, while the tandem of John Collins and Tommy Laine is 56th in the doubles rankings. Laine has a team-best 10-2 dual singles mark.
