Rating the 10 Courses I have Played in Scotland

#1 The Old Course—greatest 18 in the world, every shot requires decision—Wind makes it difficult

#2 Preswick–Original home of the Open–Tight course with many double greens but needs creativity to do well

#3 Kingsbarn–maybe the most beautiful course in the world. Certainly it rivals Pebble—a 6 mile walk can tire you out

#4 Royal Troon–40 mph winds and driving rain lifted my score to 150 –with gimmies–Remember Tiger once shot 88 here

#5 Jubilee–incredibly narrow–way too much high grass–tough to score well but challenging indeed

#6 Turnberry Ailsa—great scenic course–way overpriced–not necessary

#7 Crail Balcomie–local favorite–par 69 wind plays havoc on every hole–several of the greatest par 3’s I have ever played

#8 New Course–more playable then Old Course–played in 40 degree weather

#9 Gleneagles Ryder Cup Course 2014—great American type course–nothing too memorable

#10 Western Gailes–20 minutes late for tee time–starter heaped verbal abuse on me–tough to find course
