Denver vs #1 Loyola Saturday 2:30 at Annapolis
A game I am really looking forward to watch. I have a lot of problems with Denver even making the tournament. Without Denver’s win over Duke on “rewards” night where is their quality win. 2 shots to beat Loyola in the Mile High City and no victories. If Dalton and his wings can go 50-50 with Chase Cararro at he X position, Loyola will win again and Justice will be served. As great as Loyola’s season has been believe me nobody remembers who the quarterfinal losers are. Loyola 15 Denver 11
#3 Duke vs Colgate
Maryland was chastised by Inside lacrosse and the rankings guys for losing to to Colgate on the road. What does that say for UMass? Well now Colgate is in the Elite 8. But it’s midnight for Cinderella. Duke is just too experienced and Danowski will figure out how to slow down Peter Baum. Costabile (who was just traded to the Lizards) will dominate at the X position. Rob Rotanz has been on fire and will certainly have a multiple goal game. Duke 12 Colgate 10
#5 UVA vs #4 Notre Dame
Kevin Corrigan is a great coach. Kevin Corrigan also plays a boring brand of lacrosse. The championship game with Duke 2 years back was virtually unwatchable. Please don’t bring up Maryland’s stall warnings. at least the Terps always look for transitions. But the X factor in this game is certainly the greatest player in the college game today and that of course is Steele. Nobody wants to play UVA. A totally different team come tournament time. UVA 8 Irish 5. I am yawning already.
