BEFORE MARYLAND – Two-time All-Interstate Athletic Conference selection at St. Albans, where he graduated in 2011… Played for former Terrapin guard Duane Simpkins… Averaged 11 points and 10 rebounds as a senior after posting 9 and 6 averages for the Bulldogs as a junior… Earned all-tourney in four events, including the IAC tourney and the Puerto Rico Classic…
Also participated in rowing for St. Albans.. Bulldogs were two-time Virginia State Champions and twice named the All-Met Boat of the Year… St. Albans crwe earned the Stotesbury Cup Regatta gold medal.
PERSONAL – Born in Hamburg, Germany… Parents are Duncan Ray and Tina Barks… Has older siblings who are twins, Sarah and Adah… Majoring in social and behavioral studies… This summer, worked on his core abilities, as well as his strength and conditioning… Pretended to be Shaquille O’Neal as a kid… Sports hero is Jesse Owens… Thinks Owen Wilson should play him in a movie about his life… Advice to youngsters is “never look back unless you’re planning to go that way.”
