Observations at the Naval Academy Friday Night:

The night got off to a strong start watching on the TV in the Press Box–Chris Davis go deep to take the O’s to victory. Governor O’Malley was in the house tonight.

General consensus was that Maryland would easily control this game. Someone forgot to tell Navy. After jumping out to a fast 3-0 start, the Midshipmen stormed back with 5 unanswered goals before Maryland settled down and retook control of the contest. Mike Chanenchuck led the way tonight with 2G and 2 A.

Strong halftime adjustments by Coach Tillman and the staff as Maryland cleverly attacked the zone. 5 assists for the attack did the trick.  Why is Maryland 8-1 —some of the reasons

—-Raffa has controlled the x position tonight winning 14 of 21

—Niko has been outstanding in the goal and has developed Brian Phipps like clears.

—The #1 middie line is clearly the best in college—Jake, John Haus, and Mike Chanenchuck

—The defense can be stifling at times–Navty had but 18 shots tonight

—-Consistent groundball victories

—-Unselfish attack

—Jesse Bernhardt
