With Maryland base runners at second and third, a 2-0 wild pitch allowed LaMonte Wade to score to send the Terps past VCU, 6-5, in 11 innings Tuesday afternoon at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium.
A sacrifice bunt by Kevin Martir moved Kyle Convissar to second and Wade to third in the 11th. With Andrew Amaro at the plate, VCU (15-15) elected to intentionally walk the sophomore. On the third pitch of the at-bat, the Rams’ Hunter Absher sailed a pitch past the catcher and allowing Wade to slide home for the Terps (17-15) second walk-off of the season.
