Matt Weiters’ Grand Slam in the 10th Inning Gives The O’s a 10-6 Win over Tampa

The bats were reborn tonight as the O’s parlayed 3 home runs into a series clinching victory against the Tampa Thursday night. Steve Pearce and Nolan Reimhold each had a 2 run homer for the Orioles tonight. Once again however sloppy baseball almost cost the Orioles the victory. With 2 on and nobody out in the bottom of the 10th, Adam Jones hit a deep fly to right that carried well and bounce off the wall. Markakis for some reason could not assess that the outfielder had given up on catching the ball and continud to tag and hold 2nd waiting for the catch so he could tag. Nick wound up on 3rd. Adam Jones for whatever reason broke into a semi HR trot and almost passed Manny Machado who had to hold at 2nd. The keystone cops—er Orioles —got a break when no one covered 1st and Adam was able to return to first. But did he retouch 2nd base as he had to backtrack. All was forgiver when Matty went deep.

Dodger Blue comes to Camden Yards this weekend.
