Finally Winnipeg lost a shootout. Combine that with the Caps outright win over Montreal and the Caps are 3 points up with only 3 games left to play for each team. As I have been talking about recently, with the addition of Mike Rebeiro as center of the 2nd line, Troy Brouwer has become a true finisher. In certainly one of the biggest games of the year, Troy scored twice each time with an assist from #9. Add 2 goals , #29, and 30, for #8 and Montreal is getting ripped in the press for losing their 2nd home game to the Caps in 10 days.
So this sets up Tuesday night’s game at Vrizon, win and the Caps are in–3rd place as Division Champs with a not so significant home ice advantage. Hard to believe after a 2-8 start.

Caps looking hot. Very good showing against Montreal. I am looking forward to the Winnipeg game on Tuesday.
It could give us a 5 point lead with two Caps games to go.
