Observations of Another Inspiring Maryland Victory—Melo, Melo, Melo

Terps 63 Wisconsin 60

Remember, this game was close only because 2 front ends of a 1 and 1 were missed down the wire.

We are running out of superlatives to describe the play of Melo Trimble. His last second shot was just one of so many daggers he has tossed in so far brief career at Maryland.

Carter wound up with a quiet 14 points and led the Terps with 11 rebounds

The Terps shooting 52% was excellent but their offense was hindered by 16 turnovers.

Bottom line—road wins will not be easy for Maryland this year unless 4 of their 6 key scorers are in double digits. (Sulaimon, Trimble, Layman, Stone, Carter, and Nickens)

Dodd had his best game in a while finishing with 9 points including 3 dimes from Melo.

I loved Turgeon not calling a timeout on the last play. When you have Melo, never let another coach have a chance to scheme to stop him.

Next up at Michigan Tuesday night at 9.

terp bigmen must become more physical inside particularly on defense. they give up too many easy baskets.

I agree…though I also think refs are making way to many foul calls especially on interior defense. Let these guys play a bit. There are way too many body / touch fouls called.
