Kentucky signee Landon Young wasn’t happy with his visit to Ohio State. That doesn’t sit well with Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer, who let his coaching staff know about his disappointment while also defending the way his program recruits. Meyer responded Tuesday to Young’s comments to SECcountry.com that he was “treated like crap” during a recruiting trip to Ohio State, and the coach was turned off by comments detailing why the offensive tackle wasn’t offered early in the process.

Urban Meyer sort of apologized for the way his staff treated a four-star recruit after he went public with how he was treated at Ohio State.
The Buckeyes coach heard that tackle Landon Young, who signed with Kentucky, said he was “treated like crap” when he went to a camp at Ohio State.
Meyer said he was displeased with the way his staff handled Young, not with the recruit himself.
“I did read it. We had a lot of respect for him as a player. A lot. I was very disappointed in our staff that we didn’t offer him earlier,” Meyer told the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
“About treating him bad, we don’t do that on purpose — if that’s his feelings. I went back and talked to our staff about it, because I don’t want that to be out there.
“But when you have one out of 650 that say someone is treated bad, you know?” Meyer continued. “We didn’t offer him earlier, but we did want to offer him. Afterward, he really grew on me. He’s a great player, and I think we missed on him early on, and I was very upset with our coaching staff, the recruiter and that area and the position coach.
“That’s the way we do our business here. We do address that. I don’t want that out there.”
Last week, Young detailed his experience at Ohio State, saying he was “treated like a piece of meat.” Young also said Meyer told him he was “an insubstantial player with insubstantial offers from an insubstantial school” when Young said he was going to commit to Kentucky.
if meyer told teh kid he was an insubstantial player that wasn’t necessary and of course maybe the kid just felt he was good enough to lay at osu and felt he got slighted. who knows. can;t make every 18yr old. obviously the qb who committed to md and went to osu probably disagrees with the ky signee bout osu.

Not even a sentence about the fourth consecutive title by UConn women. I know it was pretty much a foregone conclusion but it is historic and anyone who likes watching basketball played at an exceptional level has to like watching this group of women play.
I get the sense that if I’d had the chance to cover Breanna Stewart as I did Taylor Cummings I’d feel the same type of admiration for “Stewie” as I do for Maryland’s star.
