Jon “Bones” Jones has been removed from Saturday’s UFC 200 card because of a potential anti-doping violation resulting from a test he took in June.
Jones was scheduled to fight Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight championship in Las Vegas.
UFC’s Dana White commented on the latest controversy involving Jones, who has had legal issues and problems with drugs in the past.
“When something tests positive, they just run it through a bunch of different tests,” White said at a news conference. “They never give a result unless they’ve really tested it. I think Jon has the ability to test the B sample. He can have a representative there or handle it himself. Jon was just notified.”
With Jones off the card and the fight date so close, a replacement for Jones will not be found.
As a result, Brock Lesnar’s return to UFC against Mark Hunt will be the night’s main event.
