OUCH—Terps Squashed By Penn State 38-14 at UnHappy Valley

I kept saying all week how in the world can the Terps be favorite at PSU this week. So much for Vegas knowledge. I am always against deferring on the road and today showed why. Penn State had us on our heels from the get go, driving down the field in 2 1/2 minutes to jump in front. But here are my comments since we all watched the game:

The prediction of a 106,000 crowd was also way off as thousands of empty seats cascaded around the upper deck.

Saquon Barkley gained 200 yards rushing but it was the QB who really gave us fits.

After Piggy’s 12 yard TD run with 52 seconds left in the half, I texted many of my friends who made the trip that we were in deep trouble after giving up the run based TD before half and trailing 24-14.

When Perry did not return for the 2nd half that was about it. Tyrrell Pigrome was placed in an impossible situation for a Freshman.

The defense never figured out the read option but I bet thats all they practice this week.

Franklin looked nervous as could be walking out in the tunnel as penn State took the field.

Perry is one tough kid –sounds like a familiar refrain.

So though it was disappointing, the Terps are 4-1, with a Judgment Day game next Saturday at vs Minnesota.

Michigan 78 Rutgers 0. Harbaugh will get his one day and I hope its Maryland that can humiliate him, like he loves to do.
