Terps in the NFL —Week 5

from umterps.com

With Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs nursing a groin injury and Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue enjoying a well-deserved bye week, it was a relatively light week for former Terrapins in the NFL. However, two veteran linebackers submitted major contributions during Week 5.

Longtime Colts linebacker D’Qwell Jackson racked up nine tackles in a close 29-23 victory over Chicago. Jackson recovered a fumble in the final minutes of the game to seal the deal for Indianapolis.

Jets linebacker Erin Henderson was a full participant in New York’s 31-13 loss to Pittsburgh after spending a few injury-riddled weeks on the sidelines. Henderson totaled a season-high eight tackles in his return to action.

Defensive back Sean Davis was a key contributor in helping the Steelers defense hold the Jets to just 13 points. The rookie chipped in six tackles and also knocked down a pass in Pittsburgh’s fourth win of the season.

– Texans placekicker Nick Novak nailed two out of his three field goal attempts in a 13-31 loss to the Vikings, including a 38 yarder. Novak also hit his only extra point attempt.

– Redskins tight end Vernon Davis submitted his second-most productive outing with his new club, hauling in three catches for 15 yards in a 16-10 victory over Baltimore.

– Eagles cornerback Nolan Carroll registered three tackles in a 23-24 loss to Detroit.

– Broncos defensive tackle Darius Kilgo recorded one tackle in a 23-16 loss to Atlanta.
