In case you missed it, here is a replay of the first part of our (Stan The Fan and myself) interview with Maryland Coach Ralph Friedgen. Just click and watch.
Maryland junior linebacker Alex Wujciak found his name on another preseason awards list. The junior linebacker was named to the watch list for the Bronco Nagurski Trophy, which honors the top defensive player in the country. Wujciak was one of 62 players on the list, which was announced Tuesday by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the Charlotte Touchdown Club.
I always take pride in all the places I have watched the Terrapin Basketball team play. I have been to Nashville, Miami, Tallahassee, Kansas City, Syracuse, Atlanta,Durham, Chapel Hill, Clemson, Raleigh, Greensboro, Largo, Verizon Center, Civic Center, The Palestra, Anaheim, The Licouras Center at Temple, UVA, Madison Square Garden, Charlotte, and many more. But what always amazed me was the presence at these games of the Conservative Giant of Journalism, Bob Novak. HE WAS ALWAYS THERE!!!!! Yet , he didn’t … Read More »
This story in incredible. Paulus has never takena snap in a college game, he has only been in practice one week–yet he will start for Cuse. Check out the ESPN article. I guess Greg should have played football from the get go because his career at Duke wound up with him seeing very little pt as a Senior.
3. Maryland: The Terps had a very good season, but will be better with some bulk and talent inside. Greivis Vasquez is one of the best guards in the country, but his emotional play seems to get more press than his skills. Vasquez is a complete player whom I believe is underrated. Add James Padgett and Jordan Williams to returnees Dino Gregory and Jerome Burney, and Maryland is not playing shorthanded in the paint this year. And no team … Read More »
14 sacks was all Coach Friedgen could stomach last Saturday. Today the offensive line depth chart was virtually rewritten.More during the week as thngs develop. My guy to watch out for this season, Caleb Porzel sat out practice today. “They think his ACL is fine and he had a sprain of his MCL. Usually that is a week or so depending on how bad it is.” Friedgen said both Porzel and freshman RB D.J. Adams “were impressive” in the scrimmage. Read … Read More »
I am to assume that a Single A closer is worth forfeiting the remainder of the season because by jettisoning Aubrey Huff the chances of the O’s winning 22 of their remaing games and winding up with 70 wins is very remote. Why does this matter you might ask? Season ticket holders pay the same price for games in August and September that they pay in May and June. The only difference the message the Oriole brass is sending out … Read More »
DOWN GOES TIGER! DOWN GOES TIGER! DOWN GOES TIGER! In maybe the greatest upset since Upset beat Man O War, Y.E. Yang defeated Tiger Woods in essentially match play at the PGA Championship at Halzeltine National. Y.E. Yang? I say why not Y.E. Yang. For the first time in a Major which Tiger had the lead after 54 holes someone stood up to the world’s greaest golfer and beat him. Yang’s 2nd shot on 18 yesterday was truly one of … Read More »
Michael Vick finally came forward to the press to discuss his dogfighting and what he is doing about it on the 60 Minutes interview with James Brown. But, for the most part, this interview seemed more like free air time for Vick to apologize instead of Vick answering to what he did.
Really, this … Read More »
My good friend Michael Bronfein predicted over lunch that too much talk of 8 for 8 in majors when holding the lead after 36 and 14 for 14 when doing the same after 54 holes, would finally catch up with Tiger. For 4 days Tiger missed birdie putt after birdie putt and then 2 spectacular shots by Yang finally did him in. Rest Assured , Eldrick will be back on top sooner then you can say 2010 Masters.
