What can anyone say? 59 year old Tom Watson was down to the last shot he had to make to win–a 180 yard fairway shot to the green. He chose one club too many and the rest is history. Watson certainly captued the imagination of the entire world. The missed putt on 18 for Watson was hard to watch as pressure got the better of him. For Cink it was his first major.
Chris seems to be on a NBA carousel going from team to team. His numbers are always good, his attitude is always good but he just hasn;t found a home yet. This deal is for 2 years and 6 million. I always wonder if the Terps would have gone back to back had Wilcox stayed.
From Matt Bracken’s recruiting blog in the Sun:
• Maryland is in good position with Pittsburgh Penn Hills wide receiver Brandon Ifill, according toESPN.com. [Cullen] Christian’s teammate, Ifill, has narrowed his list to Michigan, Pitt, West Virginia, Maryland and Rutgers. He has visited all but Michigan, and will visit the Wolverines on … Read More »

A routine throw to first that was inexplicably dropped by Ty Wigginton opened the floodgates for the White Sox to score all 4 of their runs to deafeat the O’s 4-3. The one bright spot of the game was the the arms of the Orioles’ outfielders. Reimhold and Markakis each threw strikes to elimate 2 runs or more in the disastrous 5th inning.
Can the greatest Links player in the history of golf hold on? Who could be the spoiler? My gut instincts tell me Jim Furyk or Stewart Cink could destroy the hopes of every Senior golfer in the land.Watson tees off at 9:20 AM–let’s hope at 1:30 we are watching him walk up 18 victorious.

I am going to keep a close watch on this 2nd season because I do believe that the fate of Dave Trembley is in the hands of the O’s record from here on out. The team and Trembley cannot afford another 2nd half collapse. Walks, hbp, and home runs were the downfall tonight. One good sign –Melvin Mora had 3 hits maybe signaling the start of a 2nd half surge.
Which is a bigger story? Truthfully, any golfer who strays his drives like Tiger did the past 2 days will probably succumb to the same fate of missing the cut. But the real story here is a 59 year old man, albeit the greatest Links player of all time, is leading the Open Championship after 2days. Yes, this could be the biggest sports story of the decade should Watson win the Claret Jug!!
I started going to Bullets games when the likes of Walt Bellamy, Terry Dischinger, Sihugo Green and Barney Cable suited up for Baltimore. 3 D.C. businessman..Abe Pollin, Arnie Heft and Earl Foreman owned the team. The Bullets played in the Civic Center which must have been designed by the same person who designed the Jones Falls. The building was obsolete the day it was opened. Pollin bought … Read More »
