Colts president Bill Polian believes the debate over an 18-game NFL season is over, and an expanded schedule will soon become a reality.  The competition committee member and former league executive twice said he expects the NFL to stretch its regular season by two games. He twice called the decision a “fait accompli” during his weekly radio show Monday night.  “I think that the owners, and principally the commissioner, have decided that it’s the way to go, and so … Read More »

Observations of a pretty good and quick game.

#5 returned to the NFL yesterday throwing for 250 yards and 3 TD passes to Anquan Boldin. Luck was on Joe’s side as his first pass should have picked off for 6 except the Browns DB was probably in shock that the ball was thrown right to him. Joe was sharp and his 3rd TD pass was a thing of beauty.

With apologies to Michael Jackson, Brandon Stokely, Marl Clayton, Qadri, Travis … Read More »

#6 Maryland and #14 Duke battled to a 1-1 tie in double-overtime at Ludwig Field. Junior forward Ashley Grove scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season to extend Maryland’s undefeated streak to nine games. The Terps are now 8-0-1 on the year, 0-0-1 in ACC play.  “This was a more physical game than I expected,” said Maryland head coach Brian Pensky, “but we know that we have to be ready to compete and be physical in conference play. … Read More »

IMG_0008-1 Observations of of an important 14 point victory  moving the Terps to 3-1.

I saw it , every one of the 33,000 in attendance saw it—James Franklin has been saying it—Ralph was basking in it—Danny O’Brien might just be the answer to what has been missing from the Terrapins. His pocket presence is excellent. He is cool, calm, but emotional when needed. Danny was checking off when he had to, throwing it away to avoid losses, and generated … Read More »

What I am worried about today:

If anything happens to Jamarr who is going to take over the offense.

Lots of pressure on the Terps in a must win situation.

IS THE OLINE TOUGH ENOUGH TO SPRING DA”REL.

How in the world can the Terps be a heavy favorite.

Can the defense get off to a strong start and just take FIU out of the game.

Despite registering more shots, the No. 5 Maryland men’s soccer team fell at No. 3 North Carolina, 2-1, on Friday night.  Junior midfielder Matt Kassel scored Maryland’s lone goal of the night – a penalty kick strike at 74:18 to cut the Tar Heel lead in half.

Bautista 52 home runs—I don’t know. Buck is a miracle worker but without a legit 40 HR guy in the lineup the  O’s just can’t take on the East.
