Brooke Griffin netted five goals to lift the No. 2 Maryland women’s lacrosse team to a 13-8 victory against No. 18 Virginia Sunday at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.

Maryland (15-1, 5-1 ACC) outscored Virginia 7-2 in the second half to win the final conference meeting between the two programs. In addition to Griffin, Taylor Cummings led the Terrapin attack with three goals and two assists. Halle Majorana and Zoe Stukenberg also aided the offense with two goals each.

Some comments on a very disappointing Terrapin loss at Homewood:

Yes it was Groiundhog again for the Terps. A carbon copy repeat of last year’s loss to Hopkins at College Park.

I am concerned about the offense’s sudden inabilty to score 6 on 6.

Charlie Raffa utterly dominated Drew Kennedy 15-6 causing Pietramala to switch gears and use Michael Pellegrino at the X.

In the view of most, Manny Pacquiao easily beat Timothy Bradley when they first met two years ago. In the rematch, Pacquiao did it again and this time he also got the decision he deserved yet again.
