The No. 5 University of Maryland women’s soccer team suffered a tough 1-0 loss in overtime to the Miami Hurricanes Thursday night at Ludwig Field. The loss drops the Terps to 11-4-2 overall and 6-2-1 in ACC play, while the Canes improve to 8-6-2 on the year and 3-4-1 in the conference.

Miami’s Jordan Roseboro scored in the 98th minute, following a collision of several players inside the Maryland 18-yard box that ended with Roseboro get a free run at an … Read More »

Roddy Peters, the four-star recruit from Suitland who committed to Maryland on Tuesday, had a pretty good coach to learn from this past spring and summer while playing for D.C. Assault. Former Wizards coach Eddie Jordan, a former point guard himself, helped coach Peters on the local AAU powerhouse and believes the Terps made out well for themselves.

“He’s a terrific passer, a willing passer, who’s great in the open court,” Jordan said Wednesday from Los Angeles, where he is now an assistant with … Read More »

*Houston over Baltimore by 21

The record shows 5-1. But Baltimore isn’t scaring anyone. The Ravens have won four in a row. They’ve won those games by a combined 13 points, failing to cover the spread in all four games. They very well could be 3-3 instead, escaping with victories the past two weeks against Kansas City, 9-6, and Dallas, 31-29, at home. The Ravens’ once fierce defense has been gashed for 441 yards on the ground the … Read More »

Ravens

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPNU)

Watchability: This game should be close — all six of Maryland’s games have been decided by 10 points or less. The Terrapins are one of the more surprising teams in the country this year as they have already doubled their win total from a year ago. NC State is playing for the first time since upsetting Florida State on Oct. 6, and the Wolfpack will have to show they can handle success with a tricky road … Read More »

But the program was strong enough to land one of the top 5 point guards in the country and furthermore a DC Assault alum in 6″4 Roddy Peters. Who was the competition—Georgetown, Xavier, Kansas and UCLA. With Turgeon at the helm Georgetown must be prepared to … Read More »
