The Terps stayed focused on Ohio State commit Taivon Jacobs and eventually out-dueled Urban Meyer for this 4 star WR. Yannick stayed the course and this 6’2 225 LB is now a Terps. The Terps will probably climb to a top 30 recruiting class.
The University of Maryland football team announced its 2012 season awards during the annual awards banquet on Sunday. Head coach Randy Edsall and his staff handed out 11 total awards, including the Ray Krouse Memorial Award, sponsored by Capital One Bank, for the team’s Most Valuable Player which was presented to Stefon Diggs.
In his inaugural campaign, Diggs totaled 1,896 all-purpose yards, which is the second-highest single-season total in school history and the most by a freshman. His 172.4 all-purpose yards … Read More »
Some commenta after a tough Maryland loss, closing the season at 4-8.:
There was never an ounce of quit in this team all year. Ww all need to give some props to Sean Petty,#31 who was stepped up when the Terps were desperate for a QB. Saturday he was 16 for 35 , for 204 yards.
Just another game for Stefon Diggs, 248 all purpose yards, a TD pass, a kickoff returned for a TD, 8 catches for 80 yards. … Read More »
I just don’t know what anyone could have expected today. Here’s a kid, Shawn Petty–a linebacker–true a QB in high school but never recruited to play college QB. Incredible that he threw 2 TDs to Stefon who probably deserves Rookie of the Week for the 5th time.
In what I hope turns out to be a minor injury, Wes Brown left the game at the end of the first half with an ankle injury.
It was somewhat disappointing that Tech … Read More »
Maryland’s Joe Vellano and Stefon Diggs earned weekly honors from the ACC for their play against Boston College, the league announced Monday.
Vellano was named the defensive lineman of the week, while Diggs was named Rookie of the Week. It’s the first weekly honor for Vellano this season and the fourth for Diggs; he has earned Rookie of the Week honors three times and Specialist of the Week honors once. from umterps.com
Everyone used to complain how difficult it was to learn Ralph’s playbook. Scott McBrien once told me it took one year to really get a grasp on the playbook. Several QBs never did master it. Shawn Petty has had 10 days , and by the way he has never taken a snap in college. Think about it.
As Frosty the Snowman once said, to paraphrase, the season is melting away. It was another devastating loss for the Terps this time at Boston College. Maryland loses 20-17.
This is the second week in a row that a game that was won, ends up being lost. Last week the Terps missed a short field goal with 2 seconds left to lose 20-18. This week, after a short catch by Diggs turns into a long touchdown and a 17-13 Terps … Read More »
