the Washington Post reports the following:

“Pete DeSouza, a former All-Met from DeMatha and the starting right tackle at Maryland, suffered non-life threatening injuries in a campus scooter accident Thursday night, Maryland spokesperson Shawn Nestor said. According to a release issued by Maryland late Thursday, DeSouza was operating a motor scooter traveling westbound on Campus Drive when a motorist turned left in front of DeSouza. The scooter collided with the vehicle, causing DeSouza “to go down.” The driver of the passenger … Read More »

Why is this game so crucial? The Terps stand at 4-2 right now. The early season key matchup against Navy barely went our way, but it did. For this season to be deemed successful the Terps need 7 wins. The road disasters must end.  With 3 home games remaining against Wake, NC State, and FSU the Terps need 2 victories—clearly against Wake and NC State. That leaves 3 road games. Miami will be tough, Virginia lately seems to have our … Read More »

I guess the Tigers are but:

3 plays were devastating for the Terps today. First the kickoff return just after we had reversed the momentum with probably our strongest drive of the year. The missed 33 yard field goal by Baltz that wasn’t even near being close. Moten dropped a clear easy interception that would have been a TD.

I know Bowers is incredible and the Terps’ offensive line might be suspect butit took 3 1/2 quareters to get a … Read More »

Well, it wasn’t pretty but the Terps held on to a hard fought victory. Tony Logan’s 85 yard  punt return turned the tide Maryland’s way. Some observations of an important victory.

Everyone is expecting way too much of QB1 Danny O”Brien. He started off slow again and picked up as the game went on. Perhaps he might need to open up a little earlier in the game! For a freshman he has been playing superb. Danny was 9-26 for 170 … Read More »

Maryland’s Danny O’Brien was honored Monday by the Atlantic Coast Conference for his play in Saturday’s 42-28 victory over FIU.  O’Brien was voted the league’s rookie of the week after completing 18 of 27 passes for 250 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.  Starting the first game of his collegiate career, O’Brien led the Terps on five scoring drives and had an efficiency rating of 168.89, the seventh-highest mark by a freshman in the NCAA FBS this season. from … Read More »

What I am worried about today:

If anything happens to Jamarr who is going to take over the offense.

Lots of pressure on the Terps in a must win situation.

IS THE OLINE TOUGH ENOUGH TO SPRING DA”REL.

How in the world can the Terps be a heavy favorite.

Can the defense get off to a strong start and just take FIU out of the game.

Starting Maryland left tackle Justin Gilbert is out for the season with a torn ACL, coach Ralph Friedgen said Tuesday, a setback for an offensive line that surrendered eight sacks against West Virginia and struggled with injuries and inexperience last season. “Justin was really playing very well for us. We were very pleased with him,” Friedgen said. “My major concern with losing an offensive lineman was being forced to play a redshirt freshman again.” Now Maryland will do … Read More »

Finally the deal is done.  The University of Maryland and the University of Texas have agreed to a two-year home-and-home football series. Maryland will travel to Austin, Texas, on Sept. 2, 2017 for a game with the Longhorns. Texas will make the return trip to Maryland on Sept. 1, 2018. Just for the record that is 7 years from now!!! I am glad the game will be in College park and not Fed Ex Field.
