LT Bruce Campbell and LB Demetrius Hartsfield are both questionable for Saturday’s homecoming game against UVA. Campbell’s return is crucial to the Terrapins pass protection.

There was a bright smile across the face of QB1 Chris Turner as Bruce Campbell returned to the practice fild today. Since he left the Clemson game 2 weeks ago, the Terps have been out of sync. Paul Pinegar returns to the right tackle position he is much more comfortable with. Now that Bruce is back , look for Caleb Porzel to have the kind of game I have been promising.
Riley Skinner was throwing to receivers wide open while Chris Turner had to thread the needle constantly.
Gary Douglas was impressive Saturday. By the way the screen passes did work for the Terps.
Watching on ESPN 360 is a very small step past listening on the radio. the constant pauses and unclearness of the full sreen are very annoying.

The score was not indicative of the onesidedness of the game. That being said Chris Turner had a decent game tossing 3 TDs of his own. Some observations:

DJ Adams (power runner) and Caleb Porzel (speed) are expected to burn their redshirts and debut for the Terps tonight at Wake. These 2 Freshmen will excite us for the next 4 years. I can’t wait to see Caleb turn the corner, although without Bruce Campbell in the lineup it might not happen until next week. Remember the game is on ESPN 360 at 6:30 PM.
It’s been discussed all week that freshmen Caleb Porzel and DJ ADams will probably play this weekend due to the Da’Rel Scott injury. Now terrapintimes.com reports that 2 freshmen offensive linemen, Pete DeSouza and Nick Klemm imight have to burn the redshirts if any injuries occur to the line.
Tough news for the Terps this week as Bruce Campbell is definitely going to miss the Wake game. Last week the offense virtually collapsed after Bruce left the game. Look for quick drops by Turner and screen passes.
From the moment Campbell left the Clemson game, the offense virtually shut down. He will be sorely missed Saturday. Look for the Terps to utilize some screen passes to combat the wake Forest rush.
Monday it was announced Maryland will play UVA Oct 17 at 4PM on ESPNU. At least that’s an upgrade from 360.
