To say it’s been a rough past couple of weeks for Lance Armstrong is a massive understatement. In addition to a scathing report from the U.S. anti-doping agency about him, Armstrong has lost nearly all of his sponsorships, stepped down as Chariman of the popular charity Livestrong, and has been stripped of his seven Tour de France titles. Pretty much, the world has decided that because Lance Armstrong used steroids, he no longer exists. Or at least, they’re attempting to … Read More »

I watched this game on Terps TV and was confounded by the inability of the Terps to dent the nets. They outshot Lehigh 30-6—and that doesn’t even explain how one sided this game was. Anyway the Terps move to 14-0-1 with 1 home game remaining in the regular season against Clemson Saturday night at Ludwig. As usual the joint will be rocking!!!

Interesting that in a game 7, Matt Cain retaliated against Matt Holliday by hitting him high and inside in the 7th. Holliday had went out of his way to cheap shot Marco Scutaro with a hard slide in game  2. Scutaro finished the series 14-28. Enjoy the celebration Giants because Mr Verlander is coming to town Wednesday.

My prediction: Verlander wins 2 games, the Tigers win when Zito starts–that’s … Read More »

After 45 minutes of scoreless play, the offense of No. 6 Maryland prevailed for three second half goals and 3-0 victory over local opponent American Monday night.

After a defensive battle of a first half, the teams were scoreless. The Terps (13-4) outshot the Eagles (8-9), 10-3, in the first stanza.

“American played a very good press against us and they were able to come up with the ball,” head coach Missy Meharg said. “Defensively, they double-teamed very quickly. At halftime, … Read More »

We always have to remember these are kids out there playing representing our great University.

Coach Randy Edsall had no update Sunday on Hills and demurred on hypothetical situations if the quarterback was lost for an extended period. But there was no doubt it was a wrenching development for the freshman, who sobbed as he was carted off during Saturday’s 20-18 loss to N.C. State. “He was devastated,” Edsall said. “He wanted to go out there and compete. At halftime, he wanted to … Read More »

I have to admit, this was 1 practice I was excited to see. Here are my observations of each player:

Dez Wells–absolutely the strongest driver to the basket in my Terrapin memory. Franchise was superb but Dez is stronger. If he clears the NCAA, possible finishes for this year’s terps would skyrocket. YES HE IS THAT GOOD!!!!!!

Alex Len—early on the guards got him the ball down low and he was a force. Physically looks completely different. At 7’1″ we … Read More »

No. 6 Maryland pushed No. 1 North Carolina to the absolute limit Saturday, but fell 4-3 in overtime at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. The Terrapins (12-4, 3-2 ACC) held a 3-2 lead at halftime. In front of a crowd of 1,123, they held the Tar Heels (16-1, 5-0) without a goal off their 13 penalty corners. Junior goalkeeperNatalie Hunter notched a career-high nine saves, including eight in the second half.

I arrived at the game after Basketball practice with … Read More »

How does Ravens first-year defensive coordinator Dean Pees feel about his defense? “It makes me sick,” said Pees, whose group is ranked 26th in the NFL. “It makes me sick is the best way I can put it. It really does. It’s up to me and it’s up to our staff to get this thing corrected.”

Tsizzle might be back on Sunday. Is it too soon? The Ravens better be careful and not force the best defensive player in football … Read More »
