In a game marked by a few unusual calls, Boston held off the Heat 93-91 as Wade misses 3 pointer at the buzzer. Rondo added a little fuel to the fire with his comments about the Heat:

Asked by ESPN’s Doris Burke what holes he was exploiting in the Heat defense, Rondo answered: “Them complaining and crying to the referees in transition.” Should be interesting to see the fan’s reaction in Miami on Tuesday night.

Champions are never afraid to lay matches on the line. Recently, LeBron has been criticized for backing off game winning shots. Yesterday Tiger put the entire tournament on the line with a near impossible flop shot. Short he remains in the thick rough—long—his ball goes into the drink. but his ball went in!!!

Kristi Toliver’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer to lift the Los Angeles Sparks over the Tulsa Shock on Tuesday night was a dramatic, exciting and memorable moment. Add it to a growing list for the fourth-year point guard. Toliver has become a load-carrier for the Sparks, who improved to 4-1 with the win to stay on the heels of unbeaten Minnesota in the Western Conference. And that is something of a new role for the former Maryland star, who had not quite found her WNBA footing … Read More »

A few years back Montrose Coach Stu Vetter told me that in a short time Kevin Durant will be considered the best player in the NBA. After watching his stirring 4th quarter performance last night, that time might have arrived. Game 5 on Monday night should be a classic.

I took this week off to decompress a little and recover from my depression about the Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse programs not getting to the promised land. However, Final Four appearances and Championship games can never be taken for granted. It was a stellar year for Maryland Lacrosse and the Terrapin nation should be ecstatic that both of our programs performed so admirably. Forgive me for being greedy and wanting more but that’s just the way I am.

The O’s fell out of 1st place losing to Tampa 5-0 behind a masterful effort by David Price (a Bakich disciple at Vanderbilt). The bats have just wilted lately as the O’s have but 1 HR in the 5 games.

Unbelievably, last night Johan Santana hurled the first no hitter in the history of the New York Mets franchise.

Tiger is 1 shot off the lead at the Memorial finishing the day at 5 under despite a double bogey at … Read More »
