Maryland junior Jon Hill cleared 7-2.25 in the men’s high jump to earn a trip the national final during competition on Saturday in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships being hosted by North Florida.

Four Maryland student-athletes earned All-America status by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association late Sunday night. Karri Ellen Johnson, Iliana Sanza, and Katie Schwarzmann were named to the first team andAlex Aust garnered second-team honors.
Johnson netted her third first team All-America honor after rebounding from a tumultuous junior campaign. I never saw it coming. Most of the everyday columnists I talked to were picking Loyola but none saw the total domination that happened. I said last week that just getting to the final four was a tremendous achievement for this team. But then we destroyed Duke and I really thought that just maybe the 37 year drought would end. I have changed the following piece 4 or 5 times today. Let me just freeflow some of my thoughts and feelings. I really can’t understand why Maryland is so disliked by the Lacrosse world. You would have to be here to feel it. Loyola is viewed as the Cinderella team, an unusual situation for clearly the #1 team with its 17-1 record.
