The Maryland softball team outhit Boston College 12-2 to run rule the Eagles 11-0 in five innings Sunday. The Terps (32-18, 8-7 ACC) clinched their third straight ACC series win and second league sweep of the season.

Senior Vangie Galindo outhit the Eagles herself with three on the day, while senior Kathy McLaughlin and sophomore Amanda McCann each had two.

Brett Harman struck out a season-high 10 in eight innings, Matt Bossesparked the offense with a pair of home runs and Maryland defeated Virginia Tech 8-1 Saturday afternoon.

Harman held the Hokies to three hits and one unearned run in eight dominant innings and surpassed assistant coach Eric Milton for third place on Maryland’s career strikeouts list. The senior entered the day with 234 in his career and finished with 244, moving with 10 of second place.

Great start of the season for the Bayhawks tonight!!! Dave Cottle said after the game that Mt St Mary’s Goalie, TC DiBartolo had earned the start with his efforts in practice and he certainly came through.  Formet Terrapin Grant catalino opened up the game with 2 howitzer shots giving the Lizards a 2-0 lead but Coach Cottle moved Spallina over to cover Grant and from that point on the Bayhawks dominated. Terps move to 8-4 on the season. A win next week at Colgate should insure the Terps of a home game in round 1 of the NCAA tournament

Charley Raffa is showing why he was considered the #1 fogo in the nation last year. Splitting the face-offs with Curtis Holmes will benefit the team

The Terps were certainly flat in the 2nd half actually getting outscored.
