Here are my thoughts over the selection of the University of Maryland for the Military Bowl.
My disappointment begins with the fact that 2 weeks ago my sights were on the dream of playing in the Orange Bowl as the BCS representative for the ACC. After not playing in the ACC Title game, the placement of Maryland in any of the inferior bowls (3rd through 8th) would be a letdown. The people I feel sorry for are the valiant student … Read More »
This was a heartbreaker. A packed house showed up at Ludwig Field to hopefully watch the Terrapins vault into another College Cup nexyt week in Santa Barbara. But it was not to be. The Terps squandered scoring chance after scoring chance in the first overtime and were beaten on a passive 4 foot shot by the Big Ten Champs. Casey Townsend played a miraculous game scored 1 of the goals with his running mate Jason Herrick getting the other. Sasho … Read More »

The 22nd-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team rallied from an 11-point deficit to win at Purdue 56-55 Thursday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Terrapins (6-1) outscored the Boilermakers (4-1) 13-3 in the last five minutes for the win. Junior Lynetta Kizer led the Terps with 20 points on 7-for-14 shooting from the field. She was 6-for-8 at the line. Sophomore Diandra Tchatchouang and freshman Alyssa Thomas each scored 12 points. The Lady Terps overcame 27 turnovers to … Read More »
Here is my take on the whole Bowl situation. I am so happy the Terps went 8-4 and 5-3 in conference, the snubbing of Maryland by the Champs Bowl, or Sun Bowl will not upset me greatly. However it makes no sense that the Champs Bowl, the seeming pick of Maryland would choose NC State an inferior team to the Terps. It makes no sense that Maryland would probably have been in this bowl had they finished at 6-6. Please … Read More »
LeBron was simply awesome last night at the Q in Cleveland. Amid chants of Traitor and Akron Hates You, the once revered King and his mates took it to the Cavs. LeBron scored 38, as his team had his back and humiliated Cleveland. Turn the clock back 29 years , when the Pearl held out and forced a trade to New York. A similar kind of venom flowed through Baltimore that night as Earl returned to Baltimore. Boos and a … Read More »

What a turnaround for Ralph. !!!!!!! Danny OBrien was selected as Rookie Offensive player of the year and overall Rookie of the Year.
One day after six Terps earned all-league honors and three were named players of the week, Ralph Friedgen was voted ACC Coach of the Year and quarterback Danny O’Brien was tabbed the conference’s top overall and offensive rookie by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA).
Friedgen, who led the Terps to a six-game turnaround … Read More »
