Carolina now is 1-5 on the road. They are not a power!! Early in the game Roy subbed the entire starting team and lectured them while his Freshman non starters were playing. I wonder how they felt when they watched the replay.  I said it 3 weeks ago—Maryland might be much better then most people think in the ACC. The Terps have to play the games 1 at a time butI am beginning to have  a good feeling. A win … Read More »

Observations of the Terrapins road loss:

Freshman center Jordan Williams was excellent tonight. He played physical ball, held his owndown low and scored 12 points on 6-8 shooting. His performance bodes well for the Terrapins going forward.

The Terps will be in every game this year due to Senior leadership. Though Hayes and Milbourne had for the most part off nights, when crunch time came the 2 Seniors responded helping the Terps to come back from a seemingly lost game.

Perhaps I wasn’t in the best of moods after watching the Terps lose a heartbreaker to the Demon Deacons. During the Kentucky Florida game, Dickie V was praising Calipari to the sky. Calipari had 3 straight 30 win seasons, he was trying to be the 2nd coach to take 3 different schools to the final four, and on and on. NEVER did he say how he left 2 programs in disgrace or did he mention how he coached his Memphis … Read More »

On October 24, I wrote of the idiocy of the way Lane Kiffin wasted a chance to defeat Alabama. He settled for a 40 yard field goal from his kicker who was having a miserable day. The kicker missed –I called it the way it was–and Volunteer nation blasted me for criticizing their coach. Last night , Kiffin said goodbye to Rocky Top leaving the football program in shambles. I wonder if anyone will now agree on my comments about … Read More »

It wasn’tt that bad until Pete Carroll said the move had nothing to do with the pending NCAA investigation into wrongdoiongs at USC.   ONE TIME I would like to see a coach face the music instead of running out of town. Pete, I have been to Seattle–I know Seattle and 1 thing is certain —Seattle in no Los Angeles.

The Terps have a real chance to make a statement tonight. The schedule maker has been unkind to Greivis and his band of Terrapins by sending the Terps on the road 48 hours after Sunday’s game. It’s ridiculous–that’s me talking. Gary commented on Wake Forest today:  “Wake Forest is different this year but they’re still very good, very big. They’re probably quicker. With (Ishmael) Smith at the point, even though (Jeff) Teague is an NBA player, there is nobody quicker … Read More »

Lori Bjork scored 20 points and Lynetta Kizer had 19 points and 14 rebounds to help Maryland beat No. 23 Virginia 61-60 on Monday night.  The loss spoiled an otherwise special night for Virginia’s Monica Wright, who scored 20 points to pass Dawn Staley as the women’s career scoring leader in Virginia history. Wright had a chance to win the game at the buzzer, but was defended very closely and no foul was called.  The Terrapins (13-3, 1-1 Atlantic … Read More »
