The Terrapins came into this season ranked 2nd or 3rd depending on the choice. What has happened to thisteam cannot be pleasing for Coach Cottl and all Maryland faithful. There were a couple of big wins against Duke and Carolina, a couple of tough losses against UVA and Hopkins, and several just poor performances. But, the Terps made the field of 16 and today have a chance to begin the redempion process. Will Brian Phipps be in goal today? Can … Read More »

High on the agenda this time is to expand the ACC regular season to 18 games and the creation of 2 separate divisions as has been done with ACC Football. I am not sure how Coach Williams feels on this issue but I am opposed to it. This would take away from schedulingtough non-conference games, which both highlights the season and prepares the Terps for the NCAA Tournament. … Read More »

Twenty five million for Tex or 7 million for Aubrey Huff—this one had to be a no brainer for Mr A and MacPhail. Aubrey Huff again displaying his uncanny knack for timely hitting smashed a 3 run Homer helping the O’s to a relatively easy win over New York. Markakis, Zahn, and Lou Montanez also homered for the Orioles now 13-18 and 3-1 on the current homestand. Adam Eaton pitched 5 unimpressive innings but stuck around long enough for the win. Why is it the Orioles always seem to fall victim when the whole world is watching? Watching Afraud hit Guthrie’s first pitch to him in the first for a 3 run dinger made me sick. Then to have to endure the Yankee dugout celebrating the doings of a pathetic cheater only ruined the night more. Of course the 3 strikeouts of Mr Mercenary II did provide some relief. One day and I do believe it will be soon, the Orioles will … Read More »
Pittsburgh owned this game as soon as they took the lead 2-1, but trouble could be brweing for Crosby led Penquins as maybe their 2nd or 3rd best player, Sergei Gonchar, was taken out by #8 on a tripping penalty. Mike Wise in the Post had a great rcap of game 4. The Penquins now accuse Ovie of being a Russian take out artist. Of course … Read More »
