Former University of Maryland Coach Fred Funk, is challenging for his second Senior Major of the year.  “I’ll be very disappointed if I finish anywhere but first here, to tell you the truth,” Funk said after shooting a 2-under-par 68 in the second round of the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship.  Funk trails two-time Masters winner Ben Crenshaw (7-under) by one shot, and the two men should provide an interesting contrast over the final two rounds as they battle … Read More »

Men’s Soccer thoroughly dominated Virginia Tech 4-0, as Freshman MacMath drew the starting assignment. The #10 Terps are now 9-3 overall and 3-2 in the ACC.

The #1 Field Hockey Lady Terps host the #9 Duke Blue Devils today at 1PM. Maryland (10-1, 3-0) vaulted to the top of the polls September 30 after defeating then-No. 1 Wake Forest, 4-2 in Winston-Salem, N.C., then returning home to defeat Richmond, 7-0.     The best time of the year is right around the corner.  Midnight Madness triggers the part of the year when football and basketball are in full force. The Wake game game is set for high noon at Byrd and certainly the Terps have a lot to prove to their fans and the ACC in general. The sting and bad taste from the Virginia loss remains and unfortunately it preceeded a bye week. The Wake game will turn the season. A … Read More »

This is one time the Baltimore Blackout was great.  Saturday’s night makes no sense whatsoever.  It would have been one thing to have been upset by the Cavaliers, 14 point road favorites lose with regularity these days butno after the MTS game.  Some of my observations that I will go into much more depth on Tuesday night.

The lack of a pass rush continues to rear its ugly head each week as another 3rd string QB was turned into … Read More »

This game vs UVA bothers me more then Wake on October 18th. The Terrapins always seem to come up with weak efforts against teams they over match.  Last week, UVA lost to Duke 31-3–that’s right Duke. Maryland should steamroll over this team but Virginia has been destroyed this week across the country. The assumption is that the Cavs will be playing for their life, a situation I hate to face.  That being said Chris Turner will pretend like the Terps … Read More »

Next year, the power forward the Terrapins have coveted will be at College Park. James Padgett committed to the Terps last Friday. After watching video of James playing for Juice All Stars this past summer, it is clear he will any void in the power game for the Terps.  He is also a true Senior in high school turning 18 in April 09.

An excruciating loss, but I have to admit this team is much better then I ever imagined. Some of my observations in a 23-20 loss.

When I saw the replay of the endzone pass to Mason, I screamed for a replay. What in the world were the guys upstairs doing. It was obviously a td.

Is Willis too fragile for a 20 carry tailback. I believe so. His presence in the lineup is crucial. Let’s see him split time 60-40.
