Great weekend for local lacrosse as Towson defeated #2 Denver 10-9, Navy defeated #4 Yale 13-10 and yesterday Loyola destroyed Duke 15-9. Add to this Maryland’s win and 4 of the final 8 teams are from our great state. Next weekend Maryland faces Cuse and Navy takes on Brown in Providence. Towson meets Loyola at the Horseshoe in Ohio State.
Toronto easily defeats Miami in game 7 to advance to the Eastern finals against Cleveland. Prediction Cleveland in 5.

The No. 1 Maryland men’s lacrosse team defeated Quinnipiac, 13-6, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Sunday afternoon at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium.
With the win, the Terps (15-2) advance to the quarterfinals where they will face the winner of Albany and No. 8 Syracuse next Saturday in Providence, R.I., on the campus of Brown University.

After winning the last five Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland (IAAM) titles in close and mostly nailbiting fashion, the No. 1 Eagles dominated Roland Park from the start today and claimed a 15-7 victory for their eighth straight “A” conference championship at Archbishop Spalding.

Brown, Notre Dame, Carolina, and Loyola all advanced today. I was at the Duke Loyola contest. Duke easily won the GBs and face offs but Jacob Stover was incredible in the cage for the Greyhounds.Brown was the most impressive team I watched today. What an explosive squad.
