It wasn’t easy but Maryland’s women’s lacrosse team finished their second season in the Big Ten as they finished their first – undefeated – as they came away with a 10-9 win over Penn State. Thursday night in State College was literally and figuratively uncomfortable for the Terrapins. Weather caused the literal discomfort. The night was raw, rainy and blustery. The Nittany Lions caused the figurative discomfort. Maryland twice led by three goals but were unable to open any real space … Read More »

As much as I’ve liked the thought of UCLA’s mercurial linebacker Myles Jack lined up next to CJ Mosley, I’ve disliked the wide range of reports in regards to the strength of his surgically repaired knee.  Enough to make me move away from him and once again in the direction of DeForest … Read More »

There’s so much more to Maryland athletics than simply football and men’s basketball. I take great pride in the achievements of Maryland athletics. Why would this be, you might rightly wonder. In an earlier post, I noted that when the men’s lacrosse team claimed at least a share of the B1G championship with their 10-8 win over Ohio State Sunday night, it marked the 14th conference or conference tournament championship in slightly less than the two full years that Maryland … Read More »

The Terps’ offense looked pretty crisp for the first three quarters but had a pair of sloppy turnovers to open the fourth costing them some momentum.

After the first quarter, Maryland’s defense was nothing short of spectacular.

I’m a little bothered by Bernlohr’s slow starts the last few games. If it continues, that pattern will make for some very challenging games when the competition stiffens up beginning Saturday at JHU.

Also, as fans, we should have perhaps … Read More »

The No. 5 Maryland men’s lacrosse team defeated Ohio State, 10-8, on Sunday night at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium to clinch at least a share of its second consecutive Big Ten regular season title.

The Terps (11-2, 4-0 B1G) had seven different goal scorers, including two-goal performances by junior attackman Matt Rambo, junior attackman Colin Heacock and senior midfielder Bryan Cole. Rambo also matched his career-high with a trio of assists … Read More »

Got to love this O’s squad so far. 11-5 with little starting pitching but a super bullpen. Hats off the Givens and Brach for stellar performances. Crush had 4 hits and Trumbo 3 RBI hits. Even Kim had 2. Early but exciting.

What is up with KD–a flagrant 2 at a meaningless point in the game against Dallas. Rick Carlyle called him out but really, KD–why?

Jon Bones Jones won his match at UFC 197 after his awaited return.

The name of the team for years has been the Golden State Warriors often wore the City on the uni. The city refers to San Francisco but the team resides in Oakland for a few more games. Last Monday night I was in the Oracle Arena for game 2 of the Warriors Rockets series. No Steph but no factor on the crowd. Without question the most vociferous, engaged , loud professional crowd I have been at ever. I have been … Read More »
