8-10 treys, plus 3 and 1 —-3 point plays
Still miss #81 but it’s time to let go.
1. Maryland (4-0) — A big ACC game in a big stadium featured 5,055 fans in Byrd Stadium (54,000 capacity), a very good crowd but not the atmosphere of Klockner’s identical 5,000 later on Saturday night. If I were Maryland administrators I’d be looking into developing a more suitable size stadium for lacrosse events, or make Ohio State and Michigan State football fans buy lacrosse tickets as part of getting to see the Terps in College Park next fall in … Read More »
The look on Stan Goldstein’s face says all you need to know. Stan goes to almost all the road games and the blank look on his face says this can’t be happening again. But it is and it did. Both teams missed so many opportunities to win it’s hard to imagine.
Evan Smotrycz bounced back to score 20, including a 3 in the first OT to tie the score at the end of OT1.
The Terps are now 7-9 … Read More »

Mike Chanenchuck (5 goals and 1 assist), and Niko Amato (17 saves) put the Terps on their backs today and led Maryland to a relative easy 10-6 victory over #1 Duke 10-6.
Observations of the day:
X position matchup—raffa vs Brendan Fowler was almost worth the price of admission. Flowler won 11-8 but Charlie won the key battles.
I was very impressed with BL grad Colin Heacock who scored 1 goal and set Rambo another with a great pick play.
With the crowd at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium standing and clapping in anticipation with two out in the top of the ninth, Maryland senior Jake Stinnett struck out Paul Yanakopulous to became the first Terrapin pitcher throw a no-hitter since 2008 in the Terps’ 4-0 win over UMass in game one of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon.
Scott Swinson was the last Maryland pitcher to throw a no-hitter coming at Delaware on May 13, 2008. The last no-hitter to be thrown … Read More »
Senior Beth Glaros erupted for six goals to lift the No. 2 Maryland women’s lacrosse team to a 19-10 victory at No. 6 Duke Saturday at Koskinen Stadium.
Glaros nearly doubled her goal output for the season with six against Duke (3-2, 0-1 ACC). The senior also added three draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers to give Maryland (6-0, 1-0 ACC) its first conference win in 2014. Sophomore Taylor Cummings tallied a season-high five goals and posted seven … Read More »
