The top-seeded Maryland field hockey team advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament with a 4-1 win over No. 18 American Saturday in the First Round in College Park.
Junior Katie Gerzabek scored twice for the Terrapins (20-1), while sophomore Anna Dessoye added a goal and an assist to help the Terps to the NCAA Second Round on Sunday.

Clemson’s style of play turned this semifinal into a rough house brand of Soccer that really was just not that much fun to watch. Anyway, Zack steffen made a spectacular save in OT just minutes before a scrum in front of the net produced the game winner for Maryland. The Terps will face UVA the 6th seed who was an upset winner over the #1 Team in the nation Notre Dame.
The game begins at 6PM tonight.
