The Maryland softball team battled at NC State to split a doubleheader Saturday afternoon. The Terps held off the Wolfpack 5-3 in the first game, then rallied to force extra innings, but fell in 10, 5-4 in game two.

Senior Kendra Knight pitched 16.0 innings. Sophomore Amanda McCann notched a four-hit day and sophomore Candice Beards knocked in three RBI.

Maryland and Clemson were tied 2-2 after six innings, but the Tigers scored three runs in the seventh inning and one in both the eighth and ninth to pull away for a 7-2 victory Saturday afternoon.

 Alex Aust tallied seven points on four assists and three goals to lead No. 3 seed Maryland in a 12-3 rout of second-seeded Duke in the semifinals of the 2012 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship Saturday. the Title game is Monday night at 7PM on the U.
