The seedings are out, pretty much as expected except for the fact that Denver and Bill Tierney received an undeserved bid. Maryland will travel to Lehigh Sunday night at 730. The winner will take on the #2 seed Johns Hopkins and Stony Brook. But that’s speculation for next week.  Comments from Quint and Carcaterra:Memo-12

Are you kidding me–Chris Davis pitched 2 scoreless innings after going 0-8 at bat. What? Buck Showaalter basically threw in the towel when he sent the first baseman out to pitch the bottom of the 16th of a 6-6 game. Only a great play by JJ Hardy and Wieters allowed the O’s to get to the 17th.

My only question was after the O’s scored 3 on Adan Jones 3 run HR —why not then bring in one of the … Read More »

You are like me and believe in Coach Harbaugh. What’s the solution? Upshaw –a rookie –I doubt it. Sergio—you got to be kidding. Osi Umenyiora the disgruntled NY Giant—an answer but highly doubtful a trade could be worked out. Also, would cost way too much and would probably interfere with Rice’s negotiations.

Solution—next man up and the leadership of Coach Harbaugh. This is a tall task to replace Suggs who makes the game 10 vs 9 as he always occupies 2 … Read More »

Citing the desire to spend more time with his family, the Commish informed our Mayor Wednesday that this would be his final year. What a tremendous job he has done and his search for a replacement will be a difficult one. Commissioner Bealefeld has also been at the forefront of the growth of lacrosse in the city, a role I hope he will not relinquish.

Some observations of an incredible but losing effort from the Caps:

Goalie Braden Holtby was off the charts spectacular. Though I heard the post game guys on the radio saying that overall the Caps had more chances, it just seemed to me that the Rangers were just able to fire away especially in OT.

The Rangers appeared to be step quicker and overall in better shape as the game wore on. Mike Green, Brooks laic, John Carlson, and Roman Hamrik … Read More »
