Alyssa Thomas had 20 points and 14 rebounds, and No. 6 Maryland took control early in an 84-64 rout of North Carolina on Friday night.
Alicia DeVaughn scored 14 and Laurin Mincy had 13 for the Terrapins, who never trailed after yielding the game’s first point. Maryland went 8 for 10 from 3-point range and finished with a 49-32 rebounding advantage.

Take that Quint. As Coach Tillman always says “Play Like Terps” Tonight Maryland dominated every possible except in delivering cheap shots late in the game.
Senior Captain Joe Cummings led the way with 5 points including a hat trick. Mike Shakespeare contributed his first hat trick as the late flurry by the Hoyas at the end of the first half woke up Maryland. Joe Cummings put the Hoyas away in the 2nd half.

Head football coach Randy Edsall announced Thursday two adjustments with staff assignments. With the change to a 3-4 defense, Lyndon Johnson will now oversee both outside linebacker positions (Sam and Will), while Andre Powell will take over as special-teams coordinator, in addition to his running back chores.

Kevin Anderson’s phone has been silent since he drew the line in the sand about the establishment of an annual matchup between the Hoyas and the Terps. Therefore the 11 year matchup in Lacrosse will probably end with Friday night’s game. The Terps are 9-2 in the series winning last year’s game 20-8.
