Yes I was depressed after anticipating Maryland’s 1st Big Ten game of the year and having to sit through last year’s 3-9 Wildcat team run roughshod over the Terps. Though it was good to have Big 10 football back, it was excruciating to have a promising opening drive about all to cheer for. Without dwelling on the result, I extracted these good points:

Finally, after a year full of questions and surprises, Maryland Football is back. To start this season the Terps will be heading to Northwestern’s Ryan Field for the first time in school history. It’s the second time the teams have played, with Northwestern taking the first game back in 2017, 37-21.

For the Maryland offense, year after year, there is always something that throws everything off the rails. And for the past five years, an injury to the starting quarterback has been the team’s kryptonite. Case in point, Josh Jackson suffered an ankle injury last season right before two must win games.
